Versions

Every change to the platform, in plain language.

v0.17.0 actueel · 2026-08-18

Added

  • Next to an event's country code you now see that country's flag, also in the venue and organiser lists. They are drawn in the page itself, so they show up on Windows too, where flag emoji do not exist.
  • Visits are measured with Google Analytics. If you choose essential only in the cookie banner, the measurement stops from that moment on.

Changed

  • The site has its own address: www.airsoftunited.eu. Anyone arriving via the old vercel address is redirected, so only one version of the site appears in Google.
  • The description shown in a search result now names the countries and filters people actually search for, instead of the sentence shown on screen.

v0.16.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • In the admin screen you can now make an event recurring: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or with your own rule. You choose how often it falls, on which weekdays, and whether it runs on, stops on a date, or after a number of times.
  • After saving, the next playing days appear immediately, without waiting for the nightly job.
  • An event can get its own image, or one image for the whole series. It appears square in the list, the grid and on the map, and soon in the calendar. Without an image of its own, the Airsoft United default image appears.

Fixed

  • A series now keeps its own start date. Without it, "stops after ten times" counted again from today every run, so such a series never ended.

v0.15.1 · 2026-08-18

Changed

  • The photo at the top of the home page has been replaced with a wider shot of the same team. It fills the screen better on a computer and crops less of the players on a phone.

v0.15.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • You can now mount add-ons on a replica: red dot, scope, magnifier, iron sights, light, laser, tracer unit, foregrip, bipod, sling, suppressor, mock suppressor and hop-up. Each add-on gets a brand, model, note and its own photo.
  • On your profile the add-ons sit under the replica they are mounted on, with a connecting line, so it is immediately clear what is mounted on what. Your public profile shows the same.
  • If you remove a replica, its add-ons go with it. Without a replica the add-on options are disabled, with the reason shown.

v0.14.1 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • The Edit button on a piece of gear did nothing: the page loaded, but the form stayed empty and still said Add. Two causes, both gone: the number from the link was compared with a number that arrived from the database as text, and on click the browser did not rebuild the form.

v0.14.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • For a replica you now state the drive: SP, AEG, GBB, CO2 or HPA. It appears as a label on the item, on your own profile and on your public profile, so fellow players see at a glance what you play with.
  • On a primary or secondary replica that choice is required. For other gear, like a helmet or boots, the field simply disappears.

v0.13.2 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • Saving your profile with a photo returned a server error as soon as that photo was larger than 1 MB. The cause was not the photo but a framework limit lower than our own 2 MB limit: the request failed before our check ran. Photos up to 2 MB now go through.
  • If something does go wrong while saving, you now get a readable message on the page instead of a blank error page.

Added

  • If you pick a photo that is too large, the page says so as soon as you pick it and the button stays disabled, so you no longer wait out a long upload just to be told it was refused.

v0.13.1 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • The profile page returned a server error on the live site. The cause was not the page itself: the live database did not have the new tables yet, because the migration had not been run there.

Added

  • The database check page now also shows which migrations the database has and which are missing, with the command to run them. A schema that lags behind is visible at a glance instead of surfacing as an unexplained server error.

v0.13.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • You now have a player profile. You fill in a nickname, a short text, your region and the year you started, and you add a profile photo.
  • You can fill in your gear piece by piece, with brand, model, fps and joule, and each piece gets its own photo. The categories run from primary replica to boots.
  • Your profile stays private until you make it public yourself. Once public you get a shareable link that you copy to your clipboard in one click. Your email address never appears on it.

Changed

  • In the top bar, Account is now a button with an icon that stands out from the bar, so it is immediately clear that it leads to your own page.
  • The language picker has become an icon menu. The button shows the language you are reading in, and the menu shows that icon first and then the name for each language. It works with the keyboard and without JavaScript.
  • The download of your data now also contains your profile, your gear and the details of your photos with a link to fetch them.

v0.12.1 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • The cookie banner stayed put whichever button you picked. Your choice was saved, but the bar did not go away. It now disappears after one click, and you return to the page you were on instead of the home page.

Added

  • There is a cookie preferences page, always reachable from the footer. It shows what you chose and lets you change it in one click.

v0.12.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • There is an admin screen for the owner: create, edit and cancel events, check venues, block organisers, and roll the calendar forward.
  • A blocked organiser disappears, with all their events, from the calendar, the directory and the results. Nothing is deleted, so it can always be undone.
  • A venue's facilities can now be filled in, with three options per line: yes, no, or leave unknown. The date it was checked appears on the public page.

v0.11.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • A Follow button now sits on every organiser and venue page. What you follow appears at the top of your calendar with a star. You still see everything, only the order changes.
  • Under your account you find an overview of everything you follow, with the number of upcoming events, and you can let go in one click.

v0.10.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • You can now create an account with your email address and a password. That is needed to follow organisers and venues across your devices. Without an account the calendar simply works.
  • On your account page you download everything we hold about you in one click, and delete your entire account in one click. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Changed

  • The privacy statement now describes what an account keeps, that your password is unreadable to us, and what the session cookie does.

v0.9.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • On a venue or organiser page you now see not only what is coming, but everything that has been, grouped by year.
  • Contact details are now shown: website, email, phone and contact person, as far as they are known. Anyone who would rather not be listed finds right there how to have it changed.
  • For a venue you see what is present, what is not, and what has not been checked yet, plus joule limit, minimum age and area.
  • In numbers: upcoming and past events, average per year, average price, number of cancellations, and since when we have known their events. These are counts, not a rating, and it says so.

v0.8.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • On every event you now see at a glance what the site offers: parking, canteen, toilets, shelter, shop, chrono and power, each with its own icon, and whether play is indoors or outdoors.
  • You can filter on those. Pick "canteen" and only sites where it is confirmed remain. Sites we do not know about drop out: better to promise too little than too much.

v0.7.0 · 2026-08-18

Changed

  • New look: dark, angular and accented in orange, instead of the light default layout. Headings in capitals, figures and times in a technical typeface, and an accent rule at every section.
  • Every event property now has its own icon: game type, price, places left, rental gear, distance and beginner friendly. The icon always sits next to the word, never replaces it.

Fixed

  • With the browser or device in dark mode, the top bar turned light with light text on it, so unreadable. The platform now has one fixed look and no longer follows that setting.
  • The text on the home page was no longer centred on wide screens.

v0.6.2 · 2026-08-18

Changed

  • The home page now opens with a full-width photo of four players in black, green, multicam and coyote, instead of the illustration.
  • The cookie banner now also states that your view choice is remembered and that the map shows imagery from Google Maps.

v0.6.1 · 2026-08-18

Changed

  • On a computer the map is twice as tall, so you take in Belgium and the neighbouring countries at a glance.
  • On a phone the calendar now opens as a list and the map view is gone: a map that size does not help and it costs mobile data. On a tablet and on a computer the map stays the default.

v0.6.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • The home page opens on a satellite map centred on Belgium. Click a venue and you see which event is on, when, and a button to its page.
  • Next to the map there is a list view and a grid view. Your choice is in the web address, so you can share it, and it is remembered for your next visit.
  • In list and grid the calendar loads another thirty events by itself as you scroll.
  • Every event card has a button that copies its link to your clipboard, ready to paste into a group chat.

Changed

  • The Google Maps map loads as soon as the home page opens, so before you answer the cookie banner, and your IP address goes to Google. To avoid that, pick list or grid: those views load nothing from Google. This is set out in full in the privacy statement.

v0.5.1 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • On the French and English home page the word "landen" appeared in Dutch. All four counters above the calendar now follow the language of the page.
  • The database setup scripts now repair a certificate whose line breaks went missing, exactly as the website does.

v0.5.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • The check at `/api/health/db` now shows a readable page: what is wrong, the steps to take, with a button that copies each command and one that copies the full diagnosis for forwarding.

Fixed

  • A security certificate that lost its line breaks when pasted was rejected as if it were invalid. It is now rebuilt before use, and the page states how many usable certificates were found.

v0.4.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • A check page at `/api/health/db` shows at a glance whether the platform reaches the database and, if not, the cause and the next step. It never shows addresses, usernames or passwords.

Fixed

  • A missing database setting broke the whole deployment at build time, leaving nothing online to show the error. The connection is now only opened when a page actually needs data.
  • The server bundle unintentionally included the whole project, which slowed down every deployment.

v0.3.3 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • The database connection failed on the security certificate, including from the server. The platform can now use the provider's official certificate, so verification stays strict instead of being switched off.

v0.3.2 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • Behind an antivirus or corporate proxy that inspects encrypted traffic, the database was unreachable from a local machine. There is now a switch that skips the identity check without giving up encryption, for local use only.

v0.3.1 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • When the database setting is empty, the platform now says so plainly instead of trying to connect to itself and ending in an unreadable error.

v0.3.0 · 2026-08-18

Added

  • An illustration of four players in full gear, in black, green, multicam and coyote, at the top of the calendar.
  • Every event, venue and organiser gets a matching image until an own photo exists. The colourway is fixed per event, so the image never jumps.
  • Sharing a link on WhatsApp, Facebook or Discord now shows that illustration instead of an empty frame.
  • New app icon: a helmet with visor, legible down to the smallest size.

v0.2.4 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • Deployment failed when the site address was missing or left empty. The platform now falls back to the address the host provides, so a forgotten setting no longer blocks a release.

v0.2.3 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • Putting the platform online failed because an automatic job wanted to run every hour, which the host's free plan does not allow. Both jobs now run once a day.

Changed

  • The check for new events matching your saved searches now runs once a day instead of hourly, until the hosting plan allows more.

v0.2.2 · 2026-08-18

Fixed

  • The commands that set up the database now read their settings from the .env file, just like the website already did. Before, you had to set those values by hand in the terminal first.
  • The error message now says where the file belongs and which keys it needs, instead of only that something is missing.

v0.2.1 · 2026-08-17

Security

  • The test tooling was updated to a version without known vulnerabilities. The code that reaches visitors was never affected.

Removed

  • A package used only for screenshots during the build was removed from the dependency list.

v0.2.0 · 2026-08-17

Added

  • The calendar now rolls forward on its own: every night new game days are created from the recurring rules, with nobody starting anything.
  • Alerts are queued every hour for new and changed events, still deduplicated to one message per player per event.

Changed

  • The platform now runs against a database in Frankfurt while keeping the number of simultaneous connections small, so a spike in visitors cannot flatten the database.
  • A query that takes longer than five seconds is cut off with a clean error instead of a page that hangs.

Security

  • The two automatic jobs are reachable only with a secret known to the server. Without it every request is refused.

v0.1.0 · 2026-08-17

Added

  • One calendar with every event, right on the home page, filtered by date, country, type, distance, beginner friendly and available rental kits.
  • Distance search around a place. Cross-border is the default: 75 km around Hasselt returns Belgian, Dutch and German events.
  • Calendar subscriptions per organiser, per venue and per saved selection, for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.
  • Recurring game days entered as a rule, for example every Sunday or the last Sunday of the month. The platform turns that rule into concrete dates eighteen months ahead.
  • Event pages with time, venue, price, places left, rental kits left, rule set and the legal information of the country where the event takes place.
  • Separate counter for rental kits, independent from player places. An event can be sold out on rentals while places for own gear remain.
  • Full NL, FR and EN version of every page, with reciprocal language references so search engines show the right language.
  • Installable as an app on the phone, a requirement for iPhone notifications later.
  • Cookie banner that never hides event content, with refusing as prominent as accepting.
  • This changelog page, reachable through the version number in the footer of every page.

Security

  • Sources that refused automated access in writing are blocked in the database. The import layer checks that on every request.
  • Every imported organiser carries its origin and the status of the GDPR article 14 duty to inform.
